Target School & Career Office of Warsaw University of Technology would like to invite you to take part in a second English workshop on 24/05/2016 on Lwowska 2a/14.
Our workshop is designed to provide you with the chance to cover all sections involved in finding a job, we aim to take you through step by step the process of securing your dream position in today’s competitive market. Starting with how to search for recruitment notices on social media, press media and utilising your networking, we will show you how to make an impression with your motivational letter and deciding what should and should not be in your C.V. The last section of the workshop will examine the possible questions you will be asked in an interview and how to prepare for it correctly.
Duration: 3.5 hours, we will start at 1 pm

Cover letter
The cover letter is the first impression you will give your potiential employer. It is often the most over looked part of the job search. We will show you some simple ways to make the best first impression you can, simply by using the correct phrases and structure.
- We will examine how to write a cover letter to catch your potential employers eye.
- We will look at the what are the correct phrase and words to use.
- Show you how to set the correct tone to put your C.V. on the top of the pile
Building a CV
The C.V. is the most important document for any job seeker. It gives your potential employer all the information about you on which they will make a decision on whether to meet you or dump your C.V. in the trash. therefore, it is important to have the correct layout and only mention relevant experience and education.
- We will scrutinize the typical layout and structure of a C.V.
- What are the common errors people make.
- Examine what is necessary and unnecessary information for your C.V.
Finding a Job
So you have a C.V. and a motivational letter but where do you send it now? Where do you find the recruitment adverts? We will go through all the possible channels you have to find an opportunity, from asking friends to cold calling to searching the correct media to see what is opened.
- We will study methods of actively finding a job and passively finding a job.
- Using social media and print media to find your suitable position.
- What is the best way to cold call a company for information about open positions?
Interview skills
Possibly the scariest meeting many of us will ever have, the interview is nerve-racking. What clothes should you wear? jewelry? hair? what should I say first? what will they ask? In the second half of our workshop we look at all these questions as well as many others. We will give you advice from professional recruiters currently working in the industry. Our trainers will share their own personal experience and their tips to keep calm and show the real you on interview day!
- In this section we will practice interview skills and questions commonly asked by both the interviewer and interviewee.
